Room Refresh

Writer's picture: Christina HollensbeChristina Hollensbe

Howdy all! I’m sorry I have neglected all of you precious peeps for a while now but work has kept me preeety busy.

But I’m happy to report it’s starting to feel a bit more like Spring here in Corpus Christi, Texas. I finally stored away all my Christmas stuff (well, MOST of them) and wanted to share some of my “refreshes” with you. (Well, it started out as a room refresh but somehow quickly turned more into a mini Spring Tour!😆). It’s not a full Spring Home Tour (YET!). Just some spaces I revamped in my home.

One of the first places I refreshed was the guest bedroom. As some of you may recall, I had warmer tones in here (it was Fall, after all 😉).

But with all the light peeking through, I was ready to brighten up the space bit. I kept it quite simple (I’m SO OVER clutter) but still kept my love of brass in here (to enhance my FB Marketplace painting find). Anything oceanic is quite fitting for our coastal home.☺

I will admit that the styling on these Bernhardt end tables need a bit more, “Je ne sais quoi” but I had no idea when I found these at an Estate Sale how HUGE they would be in my guest bedroom. I’m actually considering making this room an office at some point but this will do for now (I’m also SO OVER stressing over perfectionism🙂).

Although I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the brass globe sconces found on amazon, I am not sure I recommend them. The globes are very delicate and it’s almost impossible to get the clips under the glass without breaking them. I did read the reviews but I took a chance since this was the style I wanted within my price range. I do think they look lovely though!

The powder blue velvet swivel chair was also a FB Marketplace find. Although, it really can’t swivel at this point (it’s pretty tight in there), but I can bring it forward a bit when needed. I just love how it looks amongst all that gold.

And can we talk about these Chiang Mai Dragon pillows??? (Although for me it’s less dragon and more florals). The dragons are on the other side. I find them a bit daunting but I absolutely love the color vibrancy on the floral side!

The painting was a $5 estate sale find (and one of my FAVES) and the convex federal mirror was a $3 Salvation Army find (can you believe it!!!!???)

I also love how the sunlight peeks through this room in the early morning hours (did I mention that already?). It really is calm, light, and refreshing. :)

And this is how you'll find me most days...in my leopard uggs and leggings. The beautiful rug was a lucky Ross $12 find. :)

Next up is my dining room. I ABSOLUTELY love waking up to this room as I make my coffee in the morning. Can you believe I almost passed this Milo Baughman dining table and chairs up?? It transforms the room and makes it so light and airy! I also love how you can see my greek key blue and white rug through the glass...

I incorporated this floral painting I recently spotted at Marshall’s (because FLORALS y’all!). Now some may complain that it’s hiding behind that palm tree but I don’t know, I kind of like seeing the colors peeking through.

I found the ikat lime green napkins and placemats on sale at Hanley-Wood. The ladies were super nice and I've just had a thing for lime green lately!

The rose chintz plates were a $5 find at Ross. I was lucky they still had them because I tried to purchase them during my lunch break but had to leave to get back to work. I immediately went back after work and luckily they were still there (whew!)

The floral sangria bottle was giving to me by a friend because FLORALS yall!

I also refreshed my office a bit (just a sneak peek). You may remember my little Christmas tree in here with my nutcracker collection.

Well I put my Christmas decor and nutcrackers away and found this GORGEOUS feathered hat lady at my local antique store so I brought her home with me. It’s pretty heavy so I’m thinking it’s real marble. I’m not sure, I just know that she’s lovely.

And I still love my Hendron dresser that I painted myself...

I only wish that this room had more light. I am not one of those bloggers with fancy cameras, equipment, or the fancy know how of how to manipulate pics...so pretty much, what you see is what you get!

I brightened up my entry way a bit as well. I am not super matchy matchy but I just like what I like and try to make it work (does it work??)

If you know me you know I not only have a love for blue and white chinoiserie ginger jars but I also love staffordshires, tobacco leaf, famille rose, pink, and rose chintz! All depicted in this little vignette.

I also get alot of questions about my navy bamboo console table...it was delivered from Target yall!

Finally, my powder room! I still need a new mirror, switch plates, paint/wallpaper and new light fixtures but I’m in love! Oh em geeeeee! Although not complete, it’s still SUCH an improvement from what we previously had before. I mean, it was really "YUCK"!

Before

After...

As mentioned earlier, we still have a bit to go but I think it's a VAST improvement and we're heading in the right direction. ;) I cannot compliment the brass sink and faucet from Whitehaus enough! It was even packaged so nicely and came with it's own "bag" (oooh la la).

So there you have it...my room(s) refresh! Please make sure to comment or contact me if you have any questions about ANYthing!

Y’all know me and know how much I love to switch things up so keep your eye out for the Spring Home Tour coming up next month!

Cheers! Christina Marie Hollensbe💋
