Spring Home Tour!

Writer's picture: Christina HollensbeChristina Hollensbe

Yes, it’s finally here! My VERY FIRST Spring Home Tour! I hope you will enjoy it as it will be JAM PACKED with lots of floral and color.

I know you really just want to skip straight to the pics, so without further ado, let’s get started!

Spring Decor: Entry Way and Living Room

Some of you may remember my entry way if you follow me on Instagram. It is decked out with florals, gold bunnies, and gold candle holders ($1 thrifty find that I spray painted myself). The white coral reef mirror is a nod to our coastal home. I love it so much better than the old brown mirror we’ve had since we got married (13 years ago)! It definitely brightens up the space and I just love it!

Moving on to the living room..

I absolutely LOVE these Navy & Pink Watercolor Peony Throw Pillows I ordered from Society6. It was a lucky find as they had a 50% off sale on the day I purchased them! You guys...I typically don’t spend much on throw pillows but these are absolutely GORGEOUS! The plush, the satin feel, the design, all of it! It’s hard to find beautiful pillows in Navy Blue but these hit the bulls eye and I know I will use them time and time again.

Don't mind Petals, she's napping and photoshoot or not, she moves for no one. ;)

The pillows go great with my velvet and blue leopard pillows I use all year around.

On my end tables, I placed some of my smaller ginger jars and added some fresh pink tulips. Our local grocery store didn’t have the best selection but nothing says, “SPRING” like tulips.

For my coffee table, (I never thought I would but...) I jumped onto the “pagoda” bandwagon. I love chinoiserie elements but I also like a variety. My eclectic style has served me well as I like a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The pagoda houses one of my little birdies and the marble lazy Susan houses it’s twin (along with more blue & white decor).

I know I picked the perfect pagoda because...

Well, that was all At Home had (lol!)...but I love it! We have dark Saltillo tile floors and dark modern furniture so I like to balance it all out with whites (and as you can tell, COLOR)!

You rarely see this angle of my living room because I have a love/hate relationship with the fireplace. It’s kinda cool in a Franklin Lloyd Wright sorta way but still trying to talk the hubs into painting it or at least white washing it. But, it’s growing on me so it’ll do for now.

On the gold and lucite table by the recliners, I have another vase with a mixture of tulips and light pink carnations (I’ve been loving subdued hints of pink lately) plus a gorgeous vintage crystal tea light holder and a pink sparkly pineapple on top of a stack of books.

I also love that I now have a spot to incorporate all of my “pretties”. I mean this gold bamboo-inspired etagere displays ALL the things I love...floral, crystal, pink, white, and gold!

Although to be honest, I am not sure I would recommend this etagere. The quality seems a bit "cheap" for the price. It was a bit disappointing because I am an avid buyer of all things Safavieh. I love the look but just wish it had better quality. I really need something to display all my things so for now, it stays.

On the top shelf I have an elephant carrying some chinoiserie blue and white balls. It was actually a thrifty find that I spray painted white...

Before...

After!

Once in a while Walmart will surprise me with something FAB. Like these pink mercury votives that go perfectly in my etagere. I didn’t want to add too much on this shelf to take away from those fine crystal bookends but I think the pink votives gives it the right touch.

I just recently started collecting pink depression glass. I almost passed up that beautiful pink candy dish but since it was just a few bucks, I went ahead and brought it home with me.

Glad I did because just a few days later, I found the beautiful pink glasses. They remind me of my grandmother. She used to have an amber color set just like these. They were the glasses we regularly drank southern sweet tea out of.

I love this style of pink depression glass. When the light hits it just right, they look like sparkling pink diamonds (and what girl doesn’t love sparkly pink diamonds). ;)

Our living room has an elongated shape so on the other side, I have some additional seating with this sofa table in between. (NOTE: We are looking for the "perfect" chairs to replace these old ones. But until then, these work).

I love that it’s yet another place to display my fun and eclectic vintage finds. And how can I not gush over this quirky chinoiserie “cat on a log” tea pot!

I like how all the pinks, blues, and gold just seem to fit perfectly together. I just love our living room now. It’s truly “me” and where new and old items come together. I love mixing my thrifted and antique store finds with my HomeGoods finds. It allows me to pair coastal elements with a bit more chic and glam. It all comes together perfectly.

And we love sitting in our recliners to get a peek of our coastal view...

Spring Decor: Serving Cart :

My husband often jokes and calls me, “Snow White” because I love animals. The serving cart is definitely showing my personality by the zoo of bunnies, cats, and flamingos I have going on here. But hey, I like it! ;)

The crystal pitcher was a Ross find and the cute pineapple tea towel was a $1.99 Walmart find.

The gold container is actually a vintage find of gold coasters. The gold pairs well with my gold flamingo highball glasses.

The blue SPODE dish houses some lemons and the Staffordshire cat pretty much lives on the bar cart...

And as you can see, I brought it all together and Spring-ified it by adding a floral arrangement along the side of the serving/bar cart (it's the same floral arrangement previously used in the entryway..I like it better here :)).

Spring Decor: Kitchen & Dining Room

Truth be told, our kitchen is abysmal (which is why I often don’t photograph in here). I detest it in the worst way (which is also probably why I don’t cook in here often😬). We look forward to updating it sometime in the near future but for now, I’ll show you my faux floral arrangement...

This chinoiserie bowl was an antique find that I got for just a few bucks. Look at all that beautiful detail...

The butterflies, birds, and cherry blossoms seem to loudly sing, “SPRING”.

If you subscribe to my blog (see link below), then you have already seen my Spring Tablescape in the dining room. I placed a beautiful faux floral arrangement in the center of the table and opted for a blue, white, and pink color scheme to compliment my recent find of this original pink spoonbill painting (it was a STEAL)!

I just love this painting SO MUCH! (I have been waiting on the handyman like FOREVER to hang it for me but just know it WILL be hung soon).

I also love our dining room table because it has an extra leaf if I want to entertain more people (usually seats 6-8 people). For now, I kept the seating for 4 and I love it because I have so much more room in here!

I decorated my buffet table with blue and white vases and the same William Sonoma Plates I have on my Tablescape for a more cohesive look.

I love flowers but don’t want my home to look too (how do I say it...) “funeralisque” so plants are great for filling in some of that blank space without overwhelming it. So, I evened things out by adding some greenery (just so happens I did some yard work so I had a bunch of fern to spare).

Over by the patio door I restyled this chest to add more color and personality.

I love this bust (I need a name for her...any suggestions???). She’s a lucky gal because I let her wear my brand new flamingo and palm leaves scarf! Aren’t the colors fun?

Well that about wraps it up! I hope you have enjoyed touring my entry/living/dining room Spring decor today. If you aren’t already, make sure to subscribe to my blog below so you won’t miss out on updates. Thanks for stopping by!
